Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of Inkline. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Inkline, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old and agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, and our Content Licence Agreement. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
2. Your Content and Copyright
You retain 100% of the copyright to all original content you create and submit on Inkline. We do not claim ownership of your writing, feedback, comments, or any other content you produce on the platform. You are solely responsible for the content you submit. You represent and warrant that your content is original, that you have the right to submit it, and that it does not infringe any third-party rights.
3. Limited Platform Licence
By submitting content to Inkline, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, worldwide licence to host, display, cache, and distribute your content solely as necessary to operate and provide the service. This includes displaying your work to reviewers, in the public library, on your profile, and in discovery features. This licence is automatically revoked when you delete your content from the platform. We will make reasonable efforts to remove cached copies within a reasonable timeframe after deletion.
4. Content Representations and Responsibility
You represent that content you submit is your original work or that you have obtained all necessary rights and permissions to submit it. Inkline bears no responsibility for content that was copied, plagiarised, or otherwise misappropriated before being submitted to the platform. If content you submitted is found to infringe on the rights of a third party, you are solely liable. Inkline reserves the right to remove infringing content and terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
5. Content Audit Trail
Inkline maintains a cryptographic audit trail that records when content was created, modified, and by which account. This audit trail is a record of platform activity only. The audit trail does not constitute proof of original authorship, copyright registration, or legal ownership. It documents verifiable facts about activity on the Inkline platform — nothing more. The Inkline Licence certificate is subject to the same limitations.
6. Copyright Infringement and DMCA
If you believe your copyrighted work has been posted on Inkline without your permission, please contact us with a DMCA takedown notice at the email address listed in our contact information. Your notice must include: identification of the copyrighted work, the infringing material and its location, your contact information, a statement of good faith belief, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are the copyright owner or authorised agent. We will respond to valid DMCA notices promptly, remove or disable access to the accused material, and notify the uploader.
7. Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed. Content version records may be anonymised but the hash chain is preserved for audit trail integrity. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or are used for purposes that undermine the community.
8. Limitation of Liability
Inkline is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, data preservation beyond our stated backup practices, or that the platform will meet your specific requirements. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Inkline and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Inkline operates. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of that jurisdiction, at our election.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of Inkline after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
